After School Forest Educator

Saplings Outdoor Program is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an After School Forest Educator. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality outdoor education programs to school-aged children in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Collaborate with our management team to design and implement a dynamic forest program that meets the needs of our students.
- Safety and Risk Management: Ensure the safety of all children participating in our programs, including forest play, hiking, and climbing activities.
- Program Delivery: Deliver engaging and interactive outdoor education programs that promote learning and development in children.
- Equipment and Resource Management: Assume overall responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of program tools and equipment.
- Seasonal Activities and Projects: Plan and implement seasonal activities and projects that utilize natural materials and promote environmental awareness.
- Mentorship and Support: Provide individualized mentorship and support to students, focusing on compassion, respect, and social-emotional learning.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Education and Experience: A degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, environmental science, outdoor education) and experience working with school-aged children in outdoor education settings.
- Qualifications: Current First Aid Certificate, Current Criminal Record Check, and experience with outdoor education programs.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and physical ability to perform teaching duties in various weather conditions.
- Competitive Compensation: $20-$24 per hour.
- Benefits: Available for those who work more than 20 hours per week.
