Job Title: Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Colonial Countertops Ltd. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing tile surfaces in a variety of settings, including residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring, marking, and cutting tile as needed
  • Set tile in place, ensuring proper alignment and spacing
  • Cut and fit tile around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on tile installation techniques
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets as required
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite surfaces
  • Install tile strips and ensure a seamless finish
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in tile installation
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colours
  • Hand-eye co-ordination and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
