Key Responsibilities:

The Business Development Manager is tasked with achieving revenue targets for the designated area (Kitchener and Waterloo). Revenue generation will stem from various sales and marketing activities, including identifying and pursuing new referral sources. This role involves daily/weekly reporting of progress to the Franchise Owner, discussing achievements and areas for improvement, and documenting advancements in sales, marketing, and networking efforts.

Key Activities Include:
  • Researching and cultivating client relationships to generate referrals; managing all stages of the sales process, including preparation and documentation of outreach efforts, follow-ups, and assessment of client needs to recommend suitable ComForCare Home Care services, with a focus on person-centered care.
  • Acquiring new business to enhance overall market presence. Target accounts may include hospitals, physicians, home health agencies, assisted living facilities, independent living communities, senior centers, hospice, long-term care facilities, and retirement homes.
  • In collaboration with the leadership team, develop strategic sales and marketing initiatives, outlining daily, weekly, and monthly activities aimed at meeting or surpassing established objectives.
  • Effectively present ComForCare Home Care marketing materials and services to referral providers through one-on-one meetings and formal group presentations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all sales and prospecting activities, including calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up actions within the assigned territory, utilizing recommended software to optimize territory potential.
  • Participate in and contribute to the creation of educational programs for clients, prospects, and colleagues.
  • Work alongside the ComForCare Corporate marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Oversee marketing operations and assist with office functions as needed (such as scheduling, billing, and payroll).
  • Investigate governmental contracts, facility programs, and other payers to enhance referral sources.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure a consistent message to customers and the community.
  • Incentives based on bonuses and commissions are available based on client acquisition.
Qualifications:
  • A strong desire to serve and assist others in leading their best lives.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or relationship management, preferably within the home care or healthcare sector.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma/GED or Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC); a college diploma is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with the senior care market and healthcare system in Kitchener/Waterloo is beneficial.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle are required, as the role involves frequent local travel (no overnight travel).
  • The position requires 75% travel within the Waterloo Region.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory requirements and restrictions in home care services.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience as a business relationship specialist or liaison is essential.
