Job Title: Carpenter - Residential Construction

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Red Star Homes Ltd. as a Residential Construction Carpenter.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials to build residential structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with a focus on residential building projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at heights, in dusty conditions, and outdoors.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty conditions, and outdoors
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
