The Royal is actively seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RN) to join our team. The RN will possess a robust understanding of clinical challenges in mental health and addiction, delivering tailored care to patients with intricate mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate nursing care aligned with patient treatment and rehabilitation objectives.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to formulate and execute innovative treatment plans that cater to individual patient needs.
- Identify and coordinate the delivery of services and resources in partnership with community and affiliate organizations, advocating for the rights and entitlements of patients.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment, including managing crises and delivering emergency nursing care.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing is preferred.
- Previous experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing is advantageous.
- Thorough knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Substitute Decision Act.
- Completion of Safety and Security in the Workplace Training is required prior to the start date if not already completed.
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychiatric nursing practice as outlined in the Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice.
- Ability to meet the Standards of nursing practice set by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Exemplary leadership skills with a focus on fostering an interdisciplinary team approach to care delivery.
- Valid driver's license may be required.
- English proficiency at level A- is mandatory in oral expression, comprehension, reading, and writing; bilingualism is an asset.
