Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at the Brockville Mental Health Centre. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing supportive nursing care to patients with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide supportive nursing care, including crisis management and emergency nursing care.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to promote patient recovery and well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in mental health nursing.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Previous nursing experience working in psychiatric/mental health specialization is preferred.
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Substitute Decision Act.
  • Safety and Security in the Workplace Training (candidate must agree to complete prior to start date if this qualification is not met).
  • Valid drivers' license, if required.
  • English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual is an asset.
