Job Title: Registered Nurse - Mental HealthWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Mental Health department. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans that address the physical and emotional needs of patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Preferred certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
- Previous experience working in psychiatric/mental health specialization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Substitute Decision Act.
- Safety and Security in the Workplace Training (candidate must agree to complete prior to start date if this qualification is not met).
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in psychiatric nursing practice as articulated in the Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice.
- Able to meet the Standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Recognized leadership skills with the ability to build the inter-disciplinary team approach to delivering interventions.
- Valid drivers' license, if required.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension, and written expression. Bilingual is an asset.
