About the Role

Thetasoft Inc. is seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful installation of floor coverings for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Installation
    • Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered to determine the required materials and labor.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand work requirements.
  • Installation
    • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding to ensure a smooth installation process.
    • Prepare flooring plans and schedules to meet client deadlines.
    • Install carpeting, resilient floor coverings, and hardwood floors to the highest standards.
    • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings to ensure a seamless finish.
  • Post-Installation
    • Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests to ensure the floor is ready for installation.
    • Estimate costs and materials required for each project.
    • Prepare floors for installation by removing existing coverings and contaminants.
    • Install outdoor carpets to meet client specifications.
    Support for Newcomers and Refugees

As a Floor Covering Installer, you will also play a key role in supporting the social and labor market integration of newcomers and refugees. This may involve:

  • Facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Recruiting newcomers and refugees who were displaced by conflict or natural disaster.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in floor covering installation.
  • Or equivalent experience in a related field.
Working Conditions
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: French.
  • Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
