Position Overview

The Flooring Installation Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the installation and maintenance of floor coverings. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with flooring materials.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ascertain work requirements.
  • Measure, cut, and secure underlay and underpadding.
  • Develop flooring plans and manage scheduling for installations.
  • Measure, cut, and install carpeting on various floor surfaces.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for flooring projects.
  • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings.
  • Prepare and install hardwood flooring solutions.
  • Assess and repair any damaged floor coverings.
  • Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other necessary tests prior to installation.
  • Estimate costs and required materials for projects.
  • Prepare surfaces for flooring installations.
  • Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants as needed.
  • Install outdoor carpeting where applicable.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees

This position also emphasizes support for the social and labor market integration of newcomers and refugees, facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills development.
