About the Role
Cascades is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team as the Multi-plant Health & Safety Coordinator. As a key member of our Cascades Recovery + division, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the overall well-being of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular plant walks, engage with drivers/operators, and participate in ride-alongs to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with control systems, provide coaching and educational opportunities, and liaise with local and senior leadership on systemic issues.
- Communicate with local leadership on activities and advice related to inspections from authorities and provide support during events that may occur onsite.
- Promote health and safety initiatives, ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements, and serve as a subject matter expert on health, safety, and wellness.
Requirements
- Knowledge of OHS laws and standards.
- Leadership and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutions.
- Ability to translate challenges into concrete solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Keen sense of collaboration and ability to support and advise business partners in analyzing their needs and finding solutions.
- Ability to deal with change and propose favorable adaptation conditions.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills and agility to work with various technological tools.
- Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset).
