Job Title: Community Communications Liaison

The City of Iqaluit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Community Communications Liaison. This position plays a vital role in connecting residents with city services and support, and coordinating city communications and customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate confidently in Inuktitut and English with residents and city staff
  • Work with city departments to ensure residents have a positive experience with the City
  • Solve customer service issues and participate in evaluating and implementing communications processes
  • Assist in creating materials for internal and external audiences, including writing for the website and social media platforms
  • Help strengthen Iqaluit as an Inuit and cultural capital, and promote Inuit Culture in the workplace and community
Requirements:
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Communications, Cultural Studies, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in a municipal, Territorial or Federal Government, or not-for-profit environment involving communications, programs, or service delivery
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional writing skills and computer literacy with a working knowledge of MS Suite
  • Organizational skills with file management systems experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Iqaluit's history
