Job Summary

The City of Iqaluit is seeking a highly skilled Community Communications Liaison to serve as a vital link between residents and the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Connect residents with city services and support
  • Coordinate city communications and customer service delivery
  • Advocate for Nunavut Inuit and local residents
  • Solve customer service issues
  • Participate in evaluating and implementing communications processes
Requirements
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Communications, Cultural Studies, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in a municipal, Territorial or Federal Government or not-for-profit environment involving communications, programs or service delivery
  • Experience and confidence speaking to members of the public and all levels of fellow staff in both Inuktitut and English
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional writing skills and computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Suite
  • Organizational skills with file management systems experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Iqaluit's history
Preferred Qualifications
  • Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • All relevant certifications are required at time of application
