About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Maple Contractors Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. This includes reading blueprints, measuring and cutting drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and sanding seams and joints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install drywall sheets in commercial, industrial, and residential settings
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Measure and cut drywall sheets to fit specific areas
  • Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
