About the Position

The HVAC Sales Representative is responsible for managing projects and providing exceptional customer service. This role will involve a mix of inside and outside sales duties, requiring strong communication skills, self-motivation, and a desire to learn.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and close deals, staying up-to-date on market trends and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to provide feedback on bids and pricing, including workload forecasting.
  • Provide design assistance to engineers on product selection and layout projects.
  • Review purchase orders and bid documents to optimize profitability, ensuring accurate pricing and IFC review.
  • Create PBY files for the support team to issue submittals and create submittals in the absence of the project manager or support team.
  • Process orders from customer lists in the absence of the support team, after receipt of approved submittals.
  • Manage and process change orders and site instructions, including pricing and resolving discrepancies with customers.
  • Track orders and deliveries, providing ETA to customers and notifying them when orders arrive.
  • Closing out projects once complete, ensuring full invoicing and maintenance documentation.
  • Provide quoted jobs not listed on the bid boards, including email requests, and enter quotes with proper association to product codes.
  • Train staff in all phases of the sales process to ensure continuation of expected service levels.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, with a customer-first approach to business.
  • Consistently improve the quality of service to meet client expectations and minimize costs, maximizing the company's competitive position.
  • Ensure adequate service levels and conduct review studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective actions required to hold team members accountable.
  • Self-educate and attend manufacturer's factory/training visits to ensure up-to-date knowledge on the latest product developments and software tools.
  • Build sustainable customer relationships and trust through open communication.
  • Represent the company at site meetings as required.
  • Assist in customer events, such as open houses, sporting events, lunches, etc.
  • Perform other duties assigned by your manager.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position (inside or outside sales).
  • University degree or college diploma.
  • EIT classification is an asset.
  • HVAC experience is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and resourceful.
  • Ready to bring positivity, energy, and enthusiasm into the workplace.
  • Professional approach to business and the workplace.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, unsupervised.
  • Strong work ethic guided by personal integrity and mutual respect.
