About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team at Pinchin Ltd. in Richmond, British Columbia. As a key member of our Geotechnical Engineering Group, you will be responsible for leading geotechnical engineering evaluations, scheduling assessments, and meeting with clients and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform geotechnical engineering evaluations, including soil and bedrock engineering design, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, excavation, dewatering, and shoring.
  • Schedule assessments and meetings with clients and contractors to discuss project requirements and provide technical advice.
  • Assign work to field staff as needed, taking into account workloads and collaborating with senior managers.
  • Prepare contract documents, proposals, and reports for clients.
  • Provide clients with guidance on relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Meet with clients to determine project requirements and provide technical support.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing efforts to attract new and existing clients.
Requirements
  • University degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering or a related field, with relevant experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a geotechnical engineering role, with a Professional Engineering Designation in British Columbia or eligibility for registration.
  • Ability to work closely with project teams across the company, providing geotechnical support as needed.
  • Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction is considered an asset.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present information to staff, clients, and managers.
  • Proven technical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clients.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle, with work-related travel expenses reimbursed.
