Job Summary

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a Child and Caregiver Support Worker to join our team in the Social Services Ministry. As a key member of our team, you will provide support to children and their caregivers, promoting healthy relationships and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and their caregivers
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each family
  • Collaborate with community agencies and professionals to ensure comprehensive support services
  • Conduct home visits and provide in-home support to families
  • Document and maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as social work or child and family studies
  • Experience working with children and families, preferably in a support or counseling role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Working Conditions

  • Field work, with a total of 37.33 hours/week, averaged over 4 weeks
  • Criminal Record Check, including a vulnerable sector query, as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in an Indigenous language
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including Indigenous communities
