Job Summary
The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a Child and Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a Child and Family Support Specialist, you will work with children and their caregivers to provide support and guidance in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and guidance to children and their caregivers
- Develop and implement support plans to meet the unique needs of each child and family
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support services are provided
- Conduct home visits and provide support in community settings
- Document progress and outcomes of support services
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. social work, child and youth care)
- Experience working with children and families in a support role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Working Conditions
- Field work with a total of 37.33 hours/week, averaged over 4 weeks
- Criminal Record Check, including a vulnerable sector query, as a condition of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in an Indigenous language
- Experience working with diverse populations
