Part-Time Permanent Position - 3 days per week, totaling 18.5 hours weekly.

Competitive hourly wage of $29.83, subject to adjustment in accordance with collective agreement pay scales after wage leveling concludes.

The Recreation Support Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents, fostering connections and community spirit.

As a Recreation Support Specialist, your daily responsibilities will include:


• Collaborating in the creation and refinement of departmental protocols and programs under the supervision of the Team Leader.


• Preparing the activity spaces as needed and assisting in the transportation of residents to and from various programs.


• Monitoring and assessing residents' interests, needs, and progress.


• Keeping accurate records of programs and resident participation, regularly reporting feedback to the Team Leader.


• Encouraging social engagement among residents by leading assigned activities or special events, aiding new residents in acclimating to the community, and fostering conversations.


• Performing additional duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:

• First Aid Certification.


• Diploma or Certificate in recreation/leisure studies or a related field.


• Experience working with seniors, including an understanding of their motivational needs.


• Knowledge of leisure principles.


• Proficiency in computer applications.


• Valid driver's license (Class F or equivalent, necessary for driving a bus).


• Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check is mandatory.
