The Recreation Aide plays a vital role in our community, positively influencing the lives of residents and fostering meaningful connections.

As a Recreation Aide, your responsibilities will include:


• Collaborating with the Team Leader to develop and refine departmental protocols and programs.


• Preparing the activity space as needed and assisting residents with transportation to and from events.


• Monitoring and assessing residents' interests, needs, and progress.


• Keeping accurate records of programs and resident participation, providing regular updates to the Team Leader.


• Encouraging social engagement among residents by leading activities or special events, assisting newcomers with orientation, and facilitating introductions to promote interaction.


• Performing additional tasks as required.

Essential Qualifications:

• First Aid Certification


• Diploma or Certificate in recreation or leisure studies, or a related field.


• Experience working with seniors, including an understanding of their motivational needs.


• Knowledge of leisure principles.


• Proficiency in computer applications.


• Valid driver's license (Class F or equivalent, necessary for driving a bus).


• Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check is mandatory for applicants.
