Counsellor for Wellness and Resilience in Accessibility Services

Position Overview:
The University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a dedicated Wellness & Resiliency Counsellor to join our Accessibility Services team. This role focuses on providing both individual and group counselling, as well as conducting workshops and outreach initiatives aimed at enhancing the mental health and wellness of students with diagnosed mental health disabilities.

Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical counselling and psychotherapy tailored to the needs of students.
- Develop and implement treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Create and facilitate group counselling sessions and workshops.
- Collaborate with Accessibility Advisors and other professionals to provide comprehensive support.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychotherapeutic practices and advancements.
- Serve as a resource for colleagues within the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in social work, counselling, or a related field, with current membership in a regulated health profession.
- A minimum of five years of full-time clinical counselling experience, particularly in community mental health settings.
- Proven expertise in addressing mental health issues, behavioral challenges, and crisis intervention.
- Experience working with university-aged students is essential.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
