The Opportunity
The Clinical Psychologist will engage collaboratively on various projects and share insights with fellow psychologists across diverse practice areas. The IWK Health Centre Predoctoral Residency Program in Pediatric and Child-Adolescent Psychology is accredited by CPA. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the training of residents.

The Mental Health and Addictions Program offers a comprehensive range of mental health services, including outpatient community mental health, day treatment, residential services for children and adolescents, inpatient care, forensics, and addiction services.

Key responsibilities will encompass psychological evaluations, program development, evidence-based treatment modalities (group, family, individual), staff supervision, and consultation with other professionals and community service providers, along with program assessment.

The Psychologist will play a vital role in program development, service evaluation, parent and staff education, and skills-based training initiatives.


Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day.

Your Qualifications:
# Ph.D./PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
# Completion of an APA or CPA Accredited Predoctoral Internship in Psychology.
# Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
# Minimum five (5) years of formal training and clinical experience in child/adolescent mental health; at least two years of clinical experience as a PhD/DPsych prepared Psychologist.
# Proven experience and skills in assessing and treating youth and families facing mental health and/or addiction challenges.
# Demonstrated proficiency in delivering both family and individual therapy.
# Recent experience in providing clinical supervision to staff preferred.
# Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
# Strong time management, workload prioritization, and organizational abilities.
# Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interprofessional care team.
# Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Care preferred.
# NCI Certification required.
# Commitment to evidence-informed practice and best practices.
# Competencies in additional languages are an asset.
