COORDINATOR, EXTERNAL ENGAGEMENT
Join our dynamic team in the External Engagement department. As the Coordinator for External Engagement, your role encompasses the creation and management of resources that facilitate events, initiatives, and various outreach efforts. You will be responsible for organizing and scheduling events, maintaining comprehensive stakeholder databases, preparing written communications, compiling quarterly reports, and drafting informational materials and briefing documents. Your organizational skills and collaborative spirit will be key in working across departments to collect information, coordinate outreach activities, and provide support to the wider team as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Manager of Community Relations, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Manager of Community Relations in engaging with external stakeholders and community groups served by BC Ferries.
- Facilitating stakeholder relationship management through regular communication, meetings, and both in-person and virtual engagements.
- Coordinating outreach efforts, including organizing working groups, creating materials for both in-person and digital engagement, and managing an annual events calendar.
- Developing resources to support external engagements and events, including written communications, issue management documents, and various reporting materials.
- Supporting digital engagement initiatives, such as surveys, public participation panels, webinars, and engagement content for the communications team.
- Collaborating with all departments to gather and share information, seek approvals for materials, and enhance processes while fostering positive relationships.
- Maintaining accurate records essential for planning and engagements, effectively prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with 1-3 years of experience in public relations, external engagement, project coordination, or corporate communications.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Additional Information
The target salary range for this position is $48,000 - $60,000 per year, with starting salaries determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. Exceptional candidates may receive offers above the target range.
