In the capacity of a Field Underwriter, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate new business avenues by forging robust relationships with brokers. You will evaluate the appropriateness of business in alignment with company protocols and provide invaluable underwriting knowledge and support to both prospective and current clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization and oversee the portfolio of business to meet profitability objectives.
  • Serve as the main liaison for assigned brokers.
  • Meet sales objectives by generating new business prospects.
  • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of commercial lines business within your designated region.
  • Collaborate on both new and renewal commercial lines accounts, working alongside the production team to assess opportunities.
  • Maintain precise records of accounts and provide insights on unsuccessful acquisitions for future enhancements.
  • Engage in underwriting initiatives and events within the sector.
  • Travel within your designated region using a company vehicle.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of experience in the Property and Casualty sector.
  • Post-secondary education or relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within your region.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
