Automobile Underwriter

We are seeking a skilled Automobile Underwriter to join our dynamic team at Aviva Canada. As a key member of our Commercial Lines team, you will play a critical role in growing our book of business while providing exceptional customer service to our broker partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our broker partners to drive business growth and retention.
- Utilize your technical skills and judgment to quote and place new business, ensuring profitable growth and excellent customer service.
- Underwrite and retain our renewal base, prioritizing workflow to meet our service standards and authority levels.
- Coach and train junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with various departments, including claims and business development, to ensure a comprehensive approach to underwriting risk and control.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of related experience in underwriting or a related field.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- CIP or working towards certification is an asset.
- Strong communication, telephony, and written skills.
- Technical skills and sound judgment required.
- Solutions-oriented approach and desire to win with our customers.
- Attention to detail and excellent organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team dynamic.
