**About the role**

We're looking for a Specialist (P&C) - Corporate Commercial Lines to join our growing team

**What you'll do here**:

- Through effective use of critical thinking skills, generate and present new ideas and solutions to challenges.
- Contribute to the development of strategies and corporate guidelines to effectively control insurance risks and to positively impact profitability.
- Collaborate with Underwriters seeking corporate consultation on files that may be large or complex, contain new or unusual exposures, or require a creative solution.
- Collaborate with other departments of the organization to support underwriting decisions.
- Facilitate the transfer of technical knowledge, development of critical thinking skills and guidance towards a solution oriented underwriting approach.
- Participate in the development and delivery of underwriting training programs to regional staff and to brokers.
- Contribute to the overall planning, design and delivery of current and new products.

**What you bring to the table**:

- Minimum of 5+ years Intermediate/Senior Commercial P&C Underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial P&C insurance wording, products, appetite and philosophies, along with underwriting guidelines, systems and procedures.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to consider different perspectives and approaches.
- Ability to identify and recommend learning and training opportunities and propose solutions and action plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate, promote partnerships and build effective work relationships.
- Self-driven and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Can adapt to changes in the workplace positively.
- Working towards Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) courses is an asset.
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
