Senior Director of Metering Operations

NPAworld is dedicated to providing exceptional utility management solutions. We are seeking a highly qualified individual to oversee our metering and billing operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and regulatory compliance.
Position SummaryThe Director of Metering and Billing Services will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer. This senior management role encompasses the oversight of Technical Services, Metering, and Billing operations. The successful candidate will serve as a key business partner, addressing all technical and regulatory aspects related to customer connections, data accuracy, and billing integrity. This position will also involve the formulation and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance our meter-to-cash processes for both electricity and water services.
Key Qualifications- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Technical Services, Metering, or Billing, with at least five (5) years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Experience across various sectors such as Hydro Utilities, Local Distribution Companies, Water/Wastewater Management, Telecommunications, and Energy is preferred.
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Technology, or a related field is required; equivalent education and experience may be accepted.
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation is advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of utility metering systems (electricity and water), AMI technologies, and related applications.
- In-depth understanding of meter-to-bill processes and revenue assurance practices.
- Familiarity with legislative requirements and regulations governing utility operations.
- Strong grasp of electricity and water distribution networks.
- Experience in a unionized work environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial analysis.
- Experience in policy formulation, project management, and process enhancement.
- Exceptional skills in drafting business and technical reports, including executive-level documentation.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proven leadership skills with the capacity to mentor and inspire team members.
- Ability to adopt an enterprise-wide perspective and understand organizational dynamics.
