Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration
- Administer medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Review and document medication administration records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse to ensure medication updates and changes are implemented promptly.
- Ensure medications are passed according to schedule, and document any refusals or missed doses.
- Resident Care
- Provide individualized care to residents, addressing their unique needs and preferences.
- Conduct Service and Health Updates as directed by the Resident Care Director.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and monthly updates.
- Risk Management and General Safety
- Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA and British Columbia Workers Compensation Act regulations.
- Practice safety procedures at all times, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and fire extinguishers.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or hazardous conditions immediately.
- Training and Contributing to Team Success
- Participate in regular training sessions and meetings to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to the overall engagement and success of the team, adhering to the Sunrise Principles of Service.
- LPN, LVN, or state/province specific licensed nurse credential.
- Maintain certifications and ongoing training as required by Sunrise and state/provincial regulations.
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
- Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents.
- Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
