Position SummaryThe **Senior Director of Metering Operations** will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer and will oversee the Technical Services, Metering, and Billing departments. This role is crucial in ensuring that all technical and regulatory requirements are met for new customer connections, as well as the accuracy and availability of meter data. The Director will play a vital role in ensuring billing precision and revenue protection.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of meter-to-cash strategies for both electricity and water services.
- Act as a strategic partner within the senior management team, providing insights on technical operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory standards.
- Manage and mentor staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Oversee budgeting processes and financial reviews related to metering operations.
- Facilitate policy development and project management initiatives aimed at process improvement.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Technical Services, Metering, or Billing, with at least five (5) years in a senior management capacity.
- Experience in various sectors such as Hydro Utilities, Local Distribution Companies, Water/Wastewater Management, and Telecommunications is preferred.
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Technology, or a related field is required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation is an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of utility metering infrastructure and associated systems.
- Strong understanding of meter-to-bill processes and revenue assurance practices.
- Proficient in navigating regulatory frameworks and safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
