The Role:

This pivotal position within the Maintenance Division is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the Maintenance Stockroom. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the individual will ensure that all parts and supplies are efficiently ordered, received, and distributed to Maintenance staff. The role involves maintaining inventory management and long-term warehousing strategies, taking into account the implications of equipment failures and the organization's operational needs and acceptable risks (e.g., unplanned downtime versus inventory levels).

A Glimpse into Daily Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily assessments of parts and supplies issued from the stock inventory.
  • Manage transactions for automatic replenishment of stock.
  • Receive and accurately place all maintenance-related parts inventory, work order materials, and contractor service reports, ensuring correct value accounting.
  • Establish Min/Max levels based on usage rates, patterns, delivery timelines, targeted service levels, equipment criticality, and necessary safety stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping variances and invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Perform daily cycle counts of stockroom inventory and monitor variance reports as per company standards.
  • Prepare packages for shipment, including necessary documentation and scheduling of pickups.
  • Organize stockroom inventory and manage the reorganization of new parts as needed.
  • Pick and stage materials for work orders while assigning associated costs.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop technical structures related to parts (Bill of Materials).
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding receiving and inventory management.
  • Maintain general cleanliness and organization of the stockroom.
  • Participate in Maintenance Team meetings and provide updates on parts to the team.
  • Prepare documentation for the identification and disposal of obsolete parts.
  • Generate purchase orders for goods and services, communicating effectively with suppliers and vendors.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., General Education Development accreditation).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a stockroom environment (maintenance experience preferred).
  • Completion of inventory management or stockroom-related educational courses.
  • A technical background is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with stockroom applications and maintenance parts is essential.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in SAP asset management systems is preferred.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written).
