Position Overview: This pivotal role within the Maintenance Division is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the Maintenance Stockroom. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the individual in this position will ensure that all necessary parts and supplies are effectively ordered, received, and distributed to Maintenance staff. The role involves maintaining long-term strategies for inventory management and warehousing, aligned with the implications of equipment failures and the organization's operational needs and acceptable risks.
A Typical Day Includes:
- Conducting daily assessments of parts and supplies dispensed from inventory.
- Managing transactions for automatic restocking.
- Receiving and accurately placing all maintenance-related parts and materials, including work order materials and contractor service reports, while ensuring correct values are accounted for.
- Establishing minimum and maximum inventory levels based on usage rates, patterns, delivery timelines, critical equipment needs, and safety stock requirements.
- Investigating and resolving shipping discrepancies and invoice issues with suppliers.
- Performing daily cycle counts of stockroom inventory and monitoring variance reports as per established protocols.
- Preparing packages for shipment, including necessary documentation and scheduling pickups.
- Organizing stockroom inventory and rearranging new parts as necessary.
- Picking and staging materials for work orders and accurately assigning costs.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to build technical structures related to parts (Bill of Materials).
- Adhering to company policies and procedures regarding receiving and inventory management.
- Maintaining general cleanliness and organization of the stockroom.
- Participating in Maintenance Team meetings to provide updates on parts availability.
- Preparing documentation for the identification and disposal of obsolete parts.
- Generating purchase orders for goods and services and communicating with suppliers.
- Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a stockroom setting, preferably in maintenance.
- Completion of inventory management or stockroom-related educational courses.
- A technical background is advantageous.
- Familiarity with stockroom applications and maintenance parts.
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
- Self-driven individual with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of SAP asset management systems is preferred.
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
