Position Overview: This essential role within the Maintenance Division is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the Maintenance Stockroom. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the individual will ensure that necessary components and supplies are procured, received, and distributed to Maintenance staff. The role involves maintaining long-term strategies for inventory management and warehousing, considering the implications of equipment failures and the operational needs of the business, including acceptable risk levels.
A Typical Day Includes:
- Conducting daily assessments of parts and supplies distributed from stock inventory.
- Managing transactions for automatic stock replenishment.
- Receiving and appropriately storing all maintenance-related parts inventory, work order materials, and contractor service documentation while ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Establishing minimum and maximum inventory levels based on usage trends, delivery timelines, service expectations, equipment importance, and safety stock requirements.
- Investigating and resolving shipping discrepancies and invoice issues with suppliers.
- Performing daily cycle counts of stockroom inventory and monitoring variance reports as per company standards.
- Preparing packages for shipment, completing necessary documentation, and coordinating pick-up schedules.
- Organizing stockroom inventory and rearranging new parts as needed.
- Picking and staging materials for work orders and tracking associated costs.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to develop technical structures related to parts (Bill of Materials).
- Adhering to company policies and procedures regarding receiving and inventory management.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the stockroom.
- Participating in Maintenance Team meetings and providing updates on parts availability.
- Identifying obsolete parts and preparing documentation for disposal.
- Generating purchase orders for goods and services and communicating with suppliers.
- Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., General Education Development accreditation).
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a stockroom environment, preferably in maintenance.
- Completion of inventory management or stockroom-related educational courses.
- A technical background is advantageous.
- Familiarity with stockroom applications and maintenance components.
- Ability to work independently while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
- Self-driven individual with a history of thriving in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient knowledge of SAP asset management systems is preferred.
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
