Reliability and Certification Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Reliability and Certification to join our team at Vention. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our reliability and certification efforts, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability in our products.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Reliability and Quality Strategy
Develop and implement a comprehensive reliability and quality strategy that aligns with our company's product development effort and general quality improvement initiatives.
Lead Reliability and Quality TeamLead, mentor, and manage a team of reliability engineers and quality assurance professionals to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability in our products.
Reliability and Quality StakeholderAct as the main reliability and quality stakeholder in design review as part of our product development process, and approve/disapprove progress to next gate.
Test Plan Review and ApprovalReview and approve reliability and functional test plans as part of our product development process.
Engineering Laboratory ManagementManage the engineering laboratory, maintain test equipment, and develop standardized test protocols across our portfolio of products.
New Product CertificationDrive all new product certification, working with 3rd party agencies.
Root Cause AnalysisLead root cause analysis for various client support situations.
Product Quality and Reliability Feedback LoopDrive the product quality and reliability feedback loop, working closely with clients, customer success team, and delivery team.
Supplier Quality ManagementWork with our global supplier base to ensure compliance to our quality requirements.
Reliability and Quality PracticesDevelop and document our reliability and quality practices and protocols.
Reliability and Validation TestsExecute reliability and validation tests as needed by our ongoing product development program.
Product Warranty and ProvisionsWork with product, operations, and finance to establish product warranty and related provisions.
Reliability and Quality Focus AreasCollaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize reliability and quality focus areas.
Requirements- Education and Experience
Degree in engineering with relevant experience in reliability engineering.
Printed Circuit Boards Design Experience5+ year experience in printed circuit boards design for industrial-grade products.
Electronics Reliability Experience10+ years experience in electronics reliability in context of industrial products.
Certification Processes KnowledgeStrong knowledge of certification processes for electrical products (e.g. UL, CSA, CE, etc.).
Reliability Engineering PrinciplesStrong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, including FMEA, root cause analysis, MTBF and L10 calculation, and reliability growth testing methods.
Leadership and Communication SkillsProven leadership skills, with experience building and managing teams, and excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization.
