Director of Reliability and Quality Assurance

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Reliability and Quality Assurance to join our team at Vention. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive reliability and quality strategy that aligns with our company's product development effort and general quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Reliability and Quality Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive reliability and quality strategy that ensures the highest level of product reliability and quality.
- Lead and Manage a Team: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of reliability engineers and quality assurance professionals to ensure the successful execution of our reliability and quality strategy.
- Design Review and Approval: Act as the main reliability and quality stakeholder in design review as part of our product development process, and approve or disapprove progress to the next gate.
- Test Plan Review and Approval: Review and approve reliability and functional test plans as part of our product development process.
- Lab Management: Manage the engineering laboratory, maintain test equipment, and develop standardized test protocols across our portfolio of products.
- Certification and Compliance: Drive all new product certification, working with 3rd party agencies, and ensure compliance to Vention quality requirements.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause analysis for various client support situations.
- Product Quality and Reliability Feedback Loop: Drive the product quality and reliability feedback loop, working closely with clients, customer success team, and delivery team.
- Supplier Management: Work with our global supplier base to ensure compliance to Vention quality requirements.
- Reliability and Quality Practices: Develop and document Vention's reliability and quality practices and protocols.
- Reliability and Validation Tests: Execute reliability and validation tests as needed by our ongoing product development program.
- Product Warranty and Provisions: Work with product, operations, and finance to establish product warranty and related provisions.
- Reliability and Quality Focus Areas: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize reliability and quality focus areas.
- Education: Degree in engineering with relevant experience in reliability engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in printed circuit boards design for industrial-grade products, and 10+ years of experience in electronics reliability in the context of industrial products.
- Certification: Strong knowledge of certification processes for electrical products (i.e., UL, CSA, CE, etc.).
- Reliability Engineering Principles: Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, including FMEA, root cause analysis, MTBF and L10 calculation, and reliability growth testing methods.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Proven leadership skills, with experience building and managing teams, and excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the organization.
