Heavy Duty Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Sandvik MIN, CNS - Canada. As a key member of our Field Service team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of surface mining equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and diagnose equipment issues, identifying faults and malfunctions.
- Perform repairs and replacements of defective parts, components, or systems, adhering to defined specifications.
- Test and commission new equipment, ensuring proper operational performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation, including time records and technical reports.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, customer requirements, and technical best practices.
- Diploma in a Mechanical or Electrical field and Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic License.
- At least 3 years of experience with mining equipment, with a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Office.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Western Canada as required.
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts, as required.
