Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Northwest Territories Power Corporation. As a key member of our Hydro Mechanical Services Team, you will be responsible for performing advanced mechanical work and system diagnostics in support of diesel generation and hydro generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems on site and over the phone.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of our Health & Safety program, Environment program, and NTPC's safety culture.
  • Collaborate with team members to determine generation program objectives and assess unit workload and priorities.
  • Complete scheduled overhauls and maintenance tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct routine trips to remote satellite plants for inspection, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Prepare reports, maintain records, and ensure compliance with safety programs and regulations.
Requirements
  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic with three years' experience in an industrial or commercial setting.
  • Valid NWT Class 5 driver's license or equivalent required.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, propose solutions, and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $45.15/hr.-$54.86/hr. plus a location allowance of approximately $6,184 per annum. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health and dental benefits, long-term disability, life insurance, paid sick days, and a defined benefits pension plan. Relocation assistance will be provided.
