Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Yellowknife. This position offers a stable schedule with a 2 week on, 2 week off rotation.

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Sandvik, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing the mechanical and electrical systems of our surface mining equipment. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with mining machinery.
  • Conducting thorough equipment inspections to identify potential problems.
  • Adjusting, repairing, and replacing faulty parts to ensure optimal performance.
  • Testing equipment functionality after repairs to guarantee safe and efficient operation.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma in a Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • A valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic License.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on mining equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
