Occupational Therapist - Inpatient RehabilitationAs an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in optimizing patient recovery and functional independence. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs following orthopaedic or medical conditions.
- Design and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to enhance patient function, mobility, and participation in daily activities.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement holistic care plans that address patients' unique requirements.
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to promote recovery, prevent complications, and maintain independence.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment interventions.
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is mandatory.
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification.
- Certification in the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) is preferred.
- Previous experience working with inpatients, particularly those recovering from orthopaedic or medical conditions, is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are crucial for success in this role.
The terms and conditions of employment align with the Collective Agreement between Lakeridge Health and OPSEU Local 348. Successful external applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six months.
