Job Summary

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Medicine department. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients with various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their rehabilitation needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions to optimize patient function and independence.
  • Participate in team conferences and meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • MSc. in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Certified in the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA).
  • Previous experience working with inpatients with orthopaedic, medical disorders is preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.
  • Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and observe strict confidentiality.
  • Membership in CAOT, OSOT.
  • Previous experience in an inpatient rehabilitation care setting is preferred.
  • ADP authorization for Mobility/seating/wheelchair and splinting experience is preferred.

  • Must have satisfactory performance record.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices.
