Job Summary:

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from medical conditions and injuries, and regain their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to help patients regain their functional abilities and independence
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support
  • Provide education and training to patients and their families on how to manage their condition and prevent future injuries
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop care plans

Requirements:

  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • MSc. in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • Certified in the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)
  • Previous experience working with inpatients with orthopaedic and medical disorders
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard
  • Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to exercise initiative and observe strict confidentiality
  • Membership in CAOT, OSOT
  • Previous experience in an inpatient rehabilitation care setting
  • ADP authorization for Mobility/seating/wheelchair and splinting experience

  • Must have satisfactory performance record
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices

Working Conditions:

The Occupational Therapist will work in a fast-paced inpatient rehabilitation environment, providing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions and injuries. The successful candidate will be required to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with patients and families, and maintain accurate records.
