Paterson Grain is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to fill the role of Accounting Analyst in our head office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting activities, including financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis of commodity sales and purchases to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with commodity traders and logistics coordinators to determine future marketing strategies and optimize business operations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Compliance: Assist in the preparation of year-end audit files and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct inventory reconciliations and prepare commodity foreign currency positions.
  • Financial Planning: Prepare and analyze various month-end commodity reports to inform business decisions.
  • Accounting: Review and perform analysis of commodity profit and loss statements, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, and provide support for the grain marketing department.

Qualifications:

  • Accounting Diploma/Degree: A degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • Excel Skills: Above-average Excel skills are necessary for data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
