Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at ONBusiness Chartered Professional Accountants Inc. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients by preparing and completing financial statements and tax returns in accordance with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare review and notice to reader working paper files, conduct external financial statement audits, and perform financial and systems analysis.
  2. Tax Return Preparation: Prepare more complex corporate, personal, and trust income tax returns, and ensure compliance with tax legislation.
  3. Client Service: Provide guidance to Junior Accountants, maintain a positive relationship with shareholders, clients, and the ONBusiness team, and take ownership of client relationships.
  4. Training and Development: Train articling students and provide guidance on accounting and tax matters.
  5. Operational Efficiency: Ensure the efficient completion and documentation of files, including the preparation of year-end files, and maintain accurate and complete records.
Requirements
  1. Professional Designation: CPA Designation or equivalent experience with formal training in accounting and tax.
  2. Accounting and Tax Experience: Hands-on experience in accounting, corporate, and personal tax preparation, with a solid knowledge of corporation tax, personal tax, and accounting and bookkeeping.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, Caseware, Profile, and Jazz-It.
  4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication, verbal, written, and electronic, with a positive attitude and a desire to exceed expectations.
  5. Time Management and Organization: Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple tasks.
