We are seeking a highly skilled Team Lead to join our Planning team at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Ontario by informing land-use planning decisions that impact the quality of life for citizens.
About the Role:
- Lead and oversee work on diverse land-use planning projects, addressing challenging issues and collaborating with municipalities and stakeholders.
- Supervise activities of assigned land-use planning staff, providing direction, advice, and leadership.
- Represent the ministry and province as a land-use planning lead and expert, providing professional advice on planning, development, and policy proposals.
- Apply alternative dispute resolution techniques to negotiate/mediate the resolution of contentious planning operational and policy issues.

Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of the Planning Act, planning systems, related legislation, and policies.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply land-use planning legislation.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience in leading multi-jurisdictional and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the government with stakeholders and brief senior management.
