About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Intermediate Technologist or Engineer-in-Training to join our Vancouver Island team at ISL Engineering & Land Services. As a member of our team, you will be part of a growing group of professionals who pride themselves on delivering transformative projects for local communities in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing design and construction services for a variety of project types across Vancouver Island
  • Coordinating with clients, contractors, and third-party stakeholders to facilitate project requirements
  • Preparing engineering base plans, designs, drawings, and cost estimates for municipal engineering projects
  • Developing concepts and designs using Civil 3D, CAD, and other computer-aided drafting programs
  • Producing design calculations and analysis for storm water and sanitary sewer collection systems
  • Assisting in preparing engineering and construction tender documents and contracts
  • Inspecting construction of municipal engineering projects
  • Providing input into project budgeting and scheduling
Requirements
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design Technology with registration (or eligible for registration) with AScT or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and eligible for registration as an EIT with EGBC
  • ~3+ years' experience in municipal or transportation engineering related fields
  • ~ Working knowledge of Civil 3D/AutoCAD
  • ~ Transportation and/or Municipal engineering design experience
  • Experience in large and small-scale projects
