Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Island Health. To be successful in this role, you will require:

Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program and certification as a Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
Three years of recent, related experience, including two years of MRI experience in an acute setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Additionally, you will need to possess:

Knowledge of image quality assessment and control, diagnostic equipment procedures, radiation safety, and quality control standards and practices.
Proficient skills with the Microsoft suite of applications, including Word and Excel, and medical imaging computerized applications, such as PACS.
Ability to organize and coordinate workload, communicate effectively, and establish priorities in collaboration with others.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, problem solve, and foster good public relations.
Ability to operate related equipment, including computer utilizing a variety of specialized software applications and electronic information systems.
Demonstrated willingness to keep current with technological developments in the field.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
