As an Export Customer Service Specialist, you will serve as the main point of contact for our esteemed clients, delivering outstanding service and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the shipping journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the complete shipping process, including the booking of shipments, coordination of pickups and deliveries, and ensuring seamless cargo transit.
- Proactively update clients on shipment statuses, delays, and any modifications to schedules or services.
- Collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and international partners to resolve issues and foster strong relationships.
- Maintain precise and current customer records, including contact details, service preferences, and specific requirements.
- Assist clients with necessary documentation, such as bills of lading, shipping instructions, customs forms, and other pertinent paperwork.
- Address customer complaints or concerns, escalating complex issues to the relevant departments for resolution.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and company policies to provide accurate and reliable information to clients.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to improving the overall customer service experience.
- Strive for exceptional customer service and promote the American President Lines brand identity positively within the industry.
Qualifications:
- A university degree and a transportation certificate are advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service role, ideally with at least one year in the shipping, logistics, or transportation sector.
- Bilingual proficiency is essential - fluent in both written and spoken English and French; additional language skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with Salesforce software and other relevant tools is beneficial.
