Position Overview

The Clinical Therapist plays a vital role within the Adult Service team in the Mental Health and Addictions sector. Reporting directly to the Manager, this position involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing crisis intervention for clients in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate individualized treatment strategies.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing mental health challenges and substance use disorders.
  • Engage in crisis management and risk assessment to ensure client safety.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the program.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide person-centered care.
  • Offer supervision and mentorship to peers within the community of practice.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant clinical discipline (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, Occupational Therapy).
  • Current registration with the appropriate provincial regulatory body.
  • In-depth knowledge of the DSM-5 criteria for mental health disorders.
  • Experience in delivering evidence-based therapies for various mental health conditions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families to enhance client recovery.
  • Skills in crisis intervention and risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support programs.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in multiple software applications.
  • Competency in additional languages is an asset, with a preference for French.

Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience is required, including assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. Candidates with less experience may still be considered for the role.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, permanent position requiring 75 hours biweekly.

The salary for the Clinical Therapist role is competitive, with additional benefits including health, dental, and life insurance, as well as a defined benefit pension plan for eligible candidates.
