About the Opportunity
As an Occupational Therapist, you'll play a vital role in empowering individuals to achieve their highest level of independence and well-being within a mental health setting. You will collaborate closely with patients, families, and caregivers to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' functional abilities and identify areas requiring support.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment programs that incorporate a range of therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.
- Providing education and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers on strategies for managing mental health challenges and promoting recovery.
- Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Advocating for patients' rights and needs within the healthcare system.
About You
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist who possesses:
- A graduate degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.
- Current licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS).
- Minimum two years of relevant experience in mental health settings.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to providing patient-centered care.
