Recreation Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Assistant to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing recreational programs for residents in our care facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and implement recreational programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of residents, including arts and crafts, sports, music, woodworking, cooking, horticulture, cultural events, and community outings.
- Program Delivery: Deliver recreational programs outside the facility, ensuring residents have the necessary equipment and clothing for activities, and coordinating with nursing staff and medical staff as required.
- Volunteer Management: Provide direction and support to volunteers during recreational programs, demonstrating techniques and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for residents.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of equipment, tools, and materials, reporting any malfunctions or supply needs to the Recreation Coordinator or designate.
- Financial Management: Follow established processes to fund enhanced recreational programs and complete documentation related to resident monies.
- Program Evaluation: Provide input and feedback on program recreation/leisure activities at regular planning meetings, ensuring resident participation and engagement.
- Transportation: Accompany residents and/or transport passengers by operating a vehicle and/or bus, as required.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Grade 12 education and completion of recognized recreational courses.
- Two years of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A Food Safe Certificate and current certification in Basic First Aid & CPR Level C.
- A valid Class 4 vehicle license (unrestricted), as required.
