Agriculture Program Manager

The Community Initiatives and Agriculture team at Explore Edmonton Corporation is seeking a skilled Agriculture Specialist to join our team on a temporary month contract. The successful candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge of the various sectors within the agriculture industry, including small and large livestock production, animal care best practices, forage and cropping, food production, and the value-add chain.
This knowledge will serve the Agriculture Specialist well as they develop, implement, and coordinate an array of agricultural programs and experiences that connect urban and rural communities and support the business of agriculture in an authentic manner.
The Agriculture Specialist will be responsible for delivering agriculture experiences at KDays, Farmfair International, and supporting the Canadian Finals Rodeo. They will positively influence decisions and outcomes by sharing agriculture knowledge, seeking agriculture options from their network, and problem-solving.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in agriculture, business, or event management.
- 4 years of experience in agriculture programming with knowledge of the agriculture industry.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite and previous experience with ShoWorks.
