Position Overview

Role: Pipelayer Assistant

Employment Type: Full-Time, Seasonal

Work Schedule: 10+ hours daily, 6 days on, 1 day off, with overtime after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week.

Work Location: Edmonton and surrounding areas, with limited public transport access.

Key Attributes: Dependable, hardworking, adaptable to varying schedules, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks.

Essential Requirements:

  • Personal Reliable Vehicle
  • CSA Approved Steel-Toed Boots with 6" Ankle Support
  • Valid Driver's License (non-GDL)

Pre-Employment Conditions:

  • Drug and Alcohol Testing (swab-based)
  • Successful Completion of Company Orientation and Site-Specific Training

Pipelayer Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Support the Pipelayer in installing pipes for the water and sewer division.
  • Compact sand around the installed pipes.
  • Lubricate plastic pipes and assist in connecting them.
  • Assist with the preparation of bedding materials such as sand and rock.
  • Gather necessary tools for the installation of PVC and cement pipes.
  • Ensure proper alignment of concrete pipes with connecting pipes.
  • Promote and adhere to the company's safety protocols, encouraging a culture of safety among all team members.

Pipelayer Assistant Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a pipelayer assistant or 3 years as a water and sewer labourer.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good manual dexterity and analytical skills.
  • Proven capability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to endure physically demanding conditions.
